Petroleum-based oils tend to block the skin's ability to "breathe". Petroleum can also leach the skin's natural oils. Although you want to reduce the rate of evaporation on dry skin, you do not want to excessively block evaporation as petroleum can do.

If you want to add moisture to your skin, simply spray the MIST on a small area first and immediately apply the CREAM.
